  • Each 2021 1 oz British Silver Britannia Coin in this product listing
comes to you in Brilliant Uncirculated condition from the Royal Mint.
Coins in this series are housed individually within protective plastic
    flips.
  • The obverse of the coin features a right-side portrait of Queen Elizabeth II
by Jody Clark. The monarch wears her Royal Diamond Diadem and earrings.
Her name and an abbreviation of her Latin title, "ELIZABETH II D G REG F
D," are inscribed along the rim, combining with the face value of the
coin, "2 POUNDS," to encircle the portrait.
  • Philip Nathan's Britannia on the waves design features on the reverse,
as it frequently has throughout the history of the series. Britannia
stands tall on the waves, holding her trident in one hand and balancing a
shield that bears the Union Jack with the other. This year, The Royal
Mint added tincture lines to the shield, part of the new security
features, which also serves to highlight its design. Inscriptions in a
rim frame note the name of the coin, "BRITANNIA," its date, "2021," and
its weight and purity, "1 OZ 999 FINE SILVER."
  • Silver Britannia coins debuted in 1997 exactly one decade after the 1987
introduction of the Gold Britannia coins. The Silver Britannia
originally featured a unique silver fineness of 95.8% silver. This was
the case for all coins dated 1997 to 2012. Beginning in 2013, the Royal
Mint boosted the silver content to the modern bullion standard most
coins use of at least .999 pure silver content.
