- Our twelfth President, Zachary Taylor, was the first U.S. president never to have held any previous elected office. He had a 40-year military career in the U.S. Army where he achieved fame in the MexicanâAmerican War. He was then recruited by the Whig Party to run for President. He died of gastroenteritis just 16 months into his term.
- Presidential Dollars are the same size and metal compostion as the Sacagawea Dollar.
