Benjamin Franklin "Founding Father" is the theme of the second silver dollar in the Benjamin
Franklin Tercentenary (300 year anniversary) program. It features a familiar image of Franklin in
his later years, based on a bust originally executed by French sculptor Jean-Antoine Houdon in
1778.
The reverse features a replica of a 1776 Continental Currency dollar, in honor of
Franklin's contributions to the development of the United States coinage and currency.
