2006 Benjamin Franklin "Founding Father" Uncirculated Silver Dollar
Benjamin Franklin "Founding Father" is the theme of the second silver dollar in the Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary (300 year anniversary) program. It features a familiar image of Franklin in his later years, based on a bust originally executed by French sculptor Jean-Antoine Houdon in 1778. The reverse features a replica of a 1776 Continental Currency dollar, in honor of Franklin's contributions to the development of the United States coinage and currency.
The "Founding Father" coin is limited to 250,000 units across the proof, uncirculated and American Legacy Collection options.
The coin is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper. It's diameter is 1.5 inches and it weighs 26.73 grams.
