The 2000 Virginia State Quarter
- Each state quarter collection card includes two Brilliant Uncirculated
quarters: one has a Denver (D) mint mark and the other Philadelphia (P).
These are the only US minted coins produced for circulation.
- Virginia became the 10th state to enter the union on June 25, 1788.
- The design of the Virginia Quarter celebrates not only the state, but also the 400th anniversary of Jamestown, the first permanent English settlement. Colonists spent four months at sea before landing in North America and establishing this historic colony.
- Mintage: 943,000,000 quarters were minted at the Philadelphia mint and 651,616,000 were minted at the Denver mint for a total of 1,594,616,000 New Hampshire quarters minted during a 10 week production span.
